Diezani’s case- UK detectives in Nigeria to work with EFCC

A team of detectives working the British National Crime Agency, have been sent to Nigeria to collaborate with operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to probe former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The team of investigators from the UK Police were said to have been handpicked from the Seizures Organised Crimes Agency.

The SOCA team of detectives are believed to have been involved in a secret investigation of Alison-Madueke for two months before they finally decided to arrest her.

A team of EFCC operatives from the Subsidy Unit led by a Chief Superintendent of Police were said to have been working with the SOCA all along.

The Subsidy Unit team if the EFCC was reportedly set up in August 2015 by the Chairman of the agency, Ibrahim Lamorde.

Their primary responsibility was to investigate the activities and accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation as wel as Alison-Madueke while she served as Petroleum Minister.
