EFCC shocks Dasuki, Dokpesi, others with evidence of transactions in $2bn arms deal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly made significant headway in the probe of the disbursement of $2.1 billion arms contract from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The major suspects in the arms deal scandal are; former NSA, Sambo Dasuki, Chairman of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, former Sokoto Governor Attahiru Bafarawa.

Vanguard reports that a special 27-member team raised by Ibrahim Magu, the Chairman of the commission, surprised the major suspects in the case with evidence of their transactions during interrogation, over the weekend.

 According to the report, the suspects who had initially denied being complicit in the arms contract, were shocked when agents of the commission confronted them with concrete evidence.

A source within the anti-graft agency was quoted to have said: “Many of the suspects, who were claiming ignorance of collecting huge sums of money from the office of the ex-NSA, were tongue tied when we brought them to face each other.

I think they will soon appear in court to tell the world why they went to the ONSA to sign and collect huge sums of public money that was not meant for the purposes they were given,” an EFCC source said.
